Reading Foundations, Intermediate 2, 12-week

Fridays 3:00-4:00pm

Reading Foundations: Intermediate 2 prepares students for advanced academic reading by developing critical comprehension and analytical thinking skills. Students learn to read increasingly complex literary, informational, and academic texts while evaluating arguments, identifying an author's purpose and bias, and applying effective strategies for understanding sophisticated texts. Through guided reading, independent practice, and teacher feedback, students build the confidence and skills needed for senior secondary and pre-university study.

What you’ll learn

  • Comprehend and analyze complex fiction and non-fiction texts.
  • Evaluate arguments and claims using textual evidence.
  • Identify bias, perspective, and purpose in a variety of texts.
