Reading Foundations: Intermediate 1 helps students develop the reading strategies needed to understand and analyze increasingly complex texts. Students learn to apply active reading techniques, determine the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary through context, identify main ideas and supporting evidence, and recognize an author's purpose and intended audience. Through fiction, non-fiction, and informational texts, students build the comprehension skills needed for success across academic subjects.
